The Core is coming!
The Core, managed by Voluntary Action Barnsley (VAB), is much, much more than a base for VAB. Our vision is to develop it as a hub for Barnsley’s third sector, offering high-class fully serviced office accommodation and a wide range of facilities and resources for voluntary and community organisations based in, or working in the area.
The package offers much more than just desks and floor space with security, reception and cleaning services. You and your organisation can also have access to one of the best-equipped IT spaces in Yorkshire, with state-of-the-art PC and phone systems, top-of-the-range printers and copiers, full networking and broadband all included in the rental.
In addition, you can hire as you need laptops, multi-media projectors, video conferencing facilities and a range of meeting & training rooms.
We aim to create a space where you can share the benefits of working together with like-minded people and organisations. Our aim is to make the building the best possible environment for voluntary organisations to work, to network and to socialise.
It is compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act including a lift, which gives full lift access even in the event of a fire. It is an excellent example of how a modern building should cater for visitors and staff whatever their level of mobility.
There are a range of fully cabled meeting rooms with capacity for up to 40 people, seminar rooms, telephone and video conferencing, colour printers, photocopiers, networking, broadband internet access, pool laptops and data projectors.
The all inclusive rental means that you do not have to allow for the following items in your budget;
- Phone calls (up to an agreed monthly amount)
- Internet
- IT support and maintenance
- Rates
- Water
- Electricity
- Gas
- Cleaning
- Photocopying
- Security
- Buildings insurance
- Insurance for furniture and computing equipment
- Depreciation of office furniture and equipment
In addition, stationery costs will be reduced as day to day paper for printing is included and other costs will be lower because of the discounts available to tenants on meeting rooms and other services, and the benefits of being able to capitalise on bulk purchasing.
The Core is estimated to be complete by Autumn 2008
