Did you know that there are over 900 voluntary and community groups in Barnsley? And over 4000 volunteers?
Voluntary Action Barnsley (VAB) is the leading infrastructure organisation in Barnsley for the voluntary and community sector providing high quality services which will give the sector stability, support and status to help it prosper. VAB provides its members with a full range of services from start up advice, recruitment of volunteers, HR management, accountancy and payroll through to training.
VAB works with local partners striving to improve the social and economic well being of Barnsley and ensure that the sector is seen as an equal partner in the delivery of services.

Membership is FREE to Voluntary and Community groups and as of August 2010 priority access to our services will be given to members. Membership offers tangible benefits and we will be adding to the range of services we offer in the next 12 months.
As ever we need to be able to make a case on behalf of Barnsley’s Voluntary and Community groups to local, regional and national decision makers. A strong membership base helps us do this.
